The founding team recognized that while airlines had embraced digital booking and inventory systems, much of Africa's road transportation ecosystem still relied on manual operations, creating unnecessary friction for both travelers and transport operators.

Rather than building another transport company, T40 Technologies focused on building the digital infrastructure that could modernize the entire industry.

Intercity became the company's flagship customer platform, connecting travelers with verified transport operators while giving operators access to modern booking technology, digital payments, inventory management, and wider distribution across multiple sales channels.

   The company secured pre-seed funding from Reflect Ventures, Rose Lake Ventures, angel investors, and participated in the Startup Wise Guys accelerator, providing resources to accelerate product development and expansion.
